Equipped with a Business Degree from NUS, Winnie embarked on a career in Banking right after graduation in 1992. Having a flair for numbers and marketing, Winnie joined the Banking Industry in Credit and Marketing. Being driven in nature, Winnie was gradually dissatisfied with her capacity as an employee. Not only was she inequitably compensated with the long hours she put in, she had to struggle with ‘politics’ in the corporate environment. In 1997, through the introduction of her husband who was her manager then, she embarked on a career in insurance.
With a philosophy of excellence in everything she does, Winnie started her career in insurance with long hours of work and a keen attitude to learn and improve. Winnie always had a heart for people and with the attitude to serve the people around her, the business slowly became her second nature. In her early days as an advisor, Winnie was a consistent qualifier of the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table, an exclusive membership for top 1% of Financial Services Practitioners around the world.
Winnie applied for management in 2001 and founded Win Advisors. Over the years, Winnie’s philosophy centers on influencing & developing people to take charge of their lives. She sees great fulfillment in transforming ordinary individuals into successful advisors who achieved great success in both their career and family. Winnie also runs her agency on a solid system of administration, training and motivation, which she firmly believes can facilitate her advisors in optimizing their strengths.
As a team, Win Advisors achieved many top honors in AIA. Shared vision and empowerment motivates the team. Riding on the exponential power of interdependence, every member of the District is given specific responsibilities to grow himself/herself as well as to bring the team to scale greater heights in the business. Together, Everyone Achieves More!
Winnie advocates Continual Education to her team. Leading by example, Winnie attained her Diploma in Life Insurance prior to her appointment as Agency Manager in 2001. She went on to pursue her Certified Financial Planner (CFPCM) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) to enhance her knowledge in full facet of financial planning. To assist her in recruiting, selecting and training, Winnie is also a Certified DiSC Behavioral Practitioner and Financial Health Check Leader.
Winnie attributes her achievements to her “average” family background. While in junior college, Winnie’s father who was the sole breadwinner, passed away suddenly due to brain haemorrhage. This did not deter Winnie from pursuing her degree course in NUS. She paid her fees through giving tuition and weekend jobs. Not having any pocket money, Winnie had to skip meals and avoid social activities organised by her course mates. All these helped Winnie in building her character, and spurred her desire to pursue an above average lifestyle for her family and herself.
Winnie is also a sought after speaker in AIA. However, she usually restricts her speaking engagements to smaller groups where she feels more at ease. Family wise, Winnie is married with 3 children and her husband is also an FSC in her team. Winnie enjoys hobbies like running, music, reading and movies.

“I have always thought of Winnie as a Superwoman because of the many roles she has to play (wife, mother of 3, Leader, Financial Services Consultant (FSC), Mentor) from day to day. As a district director, Winnie is very focused in taking Win Advisors to greater heights.A driven and ambitious leader, nothing can really stop her from reaching her goals. She’s a pro at multi-tasking judging from the amount of tasks she is able to complete in a short time, from planning training schedules for new consultants to sales meetings with her clients. Winnie is organised and systematic in all aspects. She imparts her skills and knowledge readily to those who are willing to learn. She is also a generous boss that strongly believes in rewarding her consultants as a form of encouragement.
As my mentor and friend, Winnie has helped me achieve my goals and taught me a lot about the business. Her leadership and achievements have inspired me to want to be the best producer in our agency. I enjoy working with her as she has always been very supportive and she offers constructive advice whenever I face a stumbling block at work.”
– Timothy Liew, AIA FSC and Chairman of Certification Board, FPAS
“I joined Win Advisors since 2013 and I am very impressed with the working culture and supportive environment.Right from Supervision, Training, Administration and Reward, there are many good strategies and systems in place to help every FSC excel in our industry. Winnie as a Leader is very pro-active in the social media platforms and this helps our Team members a lot in terms of marketing and branding. Winnie, being a very creative person by nature, is always open to new ideas and willing to explore ways to improve and grow all of us in our respective competitive edge.
I strongly recommend any FSC who wishes to be developed as a Leader to join Win Advisors and benefit from her dynamic leadership and solid systems.”
– Melvyn Tham, AIA Manager
“I have been working with Winnie since 2001. Winnie has always been a very dynamic and systematic person. For the past 10 years under her leadership, we had implemented our new FSC training program – Winning Formula. This program helps to prepare the new consultants on sales knowledge that is required to succeed in this industry. Also, since day one she has always instilled in us the importance to serve the client well, thus creating a very client – centric culture within the team. This had resulted in lots of repeat businesses and referrals from our existing clients. Besides, Winnie also developed other training and sales program like Sales Builder, Monthly Telethon, Prospecting Initiatives, Orientation Program, Client Events etc.
These programs help to create togetherness, sales activity and a continuous learning environment. On top of that, Winnie is also great people developer. She has developed managers and promoted 2 Directors to date, including myself. With her guidance and leadership, we certainly believe more managers and directors will emerge. In summary, we certainly believe that Winnie is a committed and strong leader who will be able to guide her team to greater success.”
– Charles Tang, AIA District Director
“I got to know Winnie through my 2 sons who are her policyholders. I did not purchase any policy from Winnie. On one occasion, I was warded in NUH for more than 3 months. Not only did Winnie visit me in the hospital, she also helped me process my hospital claim. On top of claiming 100% from AIA, I also received income on my Pink of Health Plan. I am glad to have purchased hospital insurance from AIA!”
– Mr Lim Kheng Hoe, Retiree
“My insurance agent left the business and Winnie was referred to me by my brother-in-law. With Winnie around, my policies are definitely in good hands. Not only is Winnie experienced and knowledgeable in her work, she is also very prompt in her response to our queries. My family is thankful for her help and above all, her friendship”.
– Mr Appandai, Senior Accountant from India, currently a Singapore Citizen
“When I needed to be warded for a minor operation, Winnie graciously gave me a lift to the hospital as well as liaise with the hospital staff on my healthshield claim. Winnie has gone beyond her call of duty as an insurance agent, both my wife and myself are thankful for her kindness. She is definitely someone we can rely upon.”
– Mr Lu Wen Zhong, Engineer from China, currently an Singapore PR
